For the second year in a row, the Hill School of Business JDC West team is pleased to partner with CanWest Raise-a-Reader in an effort to boost awareness and raise funds for children's literacy programs throughout Regina and southern Saskatchewan.The JDC West team will be volunteering at various Raise-a-Reader events throughout the year.
• 4th Annual Plywood Cup Challenge, July 1st: the team spent Canada Day on shores Wascana lake selling fan favourite ballots to spectators; all proceeds going to Raise-a-Reader.
• SaskCentral Queen City Marathon, September 7th: the team will be volunteering their time to ensure that the Marathon runs smoothly, working water stations, and cheering on the runners as they make their way to the finish line.
• CanWest Raise-a-Reader Day, September 24th: The team will be “hawking” papers around the University of Regina campus; all proceeds going directly to Raise-A-Reader
Throughout the month of November each JDC West team across Canada will host the annual Chillin’ for Charity fundraiser. The Hill School of Business JDC West Team will host this event on the F.W. Hill mall on November 7, 2008. High profile members from the city, local sports teams, University of Regina Faculty members and students, will collect pledges to jump into a freezing pool of water. All proceeds go directly to Raise-a-Reader.
